Advanced Micro Devices' today introduced the first AMD Memory branded desktop system memory modules. A statement said that "take the guesswork out of DRAM selection, providing an easy and straightforward experience when looking for the ideal match for gaming or multimedia PC needs", that was AMD's goal.

After several years supplying and validating memory for AMD Radeon graphics cards, they saw an oppurtunity to add system memory to its product line. There're also many request that the company should provide branded memory for other kinds of computer instead of desktop, but AMD did not respond yet.
AMD memory branded will be available in, Fry, Memori Express, and Best Buy in Canada, AMD said.

AMD said that they have used the AMD OverDrive perfomance optimization tool to test and optimize DRAM with the APUs, CPUs, GPUs and other chipset platforms.

This AMD Memory has three different ammount, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB, differenced in prices and speeds. For the RAM entertainment category, featured speed of 1333 MHz and 1600 MHz. A performance version supports speed up to 1600 MHz with low latency and comes in matched pairs, while Radeon Edition DRAM will run at 1866 MHz, AMD said.
